Day 8

There is a club in Downtown DC, which is now being boycotted by Washington Wizard fans, and the story behind it is twice as interesting!!
The other night after the Cavs lost to the Wizards, Lebron and the Cavs rented some space at a night club in DC... Apparently at the club they played a new Jay-Z track in which J disses the Wizards' Deshawn Stevenson.. The funniest thing about this whole situation is Caron Butler and his wife were also at this club that night and once Butler heard the track, him and his wife left the club.  They then reported it to the Washington presss and now this poor club aint getting no business...
Word has it anyone that is seen goin into the club gets clotheslined by Deshawn Stevenson...
Is it just me or is listening to Rasheed Wallace's cocky remarks even after losing games remind you of 50 cent? This series between the Sixers and Pistons is like they battle 50 and Kanye had when they were both releasing albums on the same day.. Kanye went on his way promoting his album, like the Sixers who are just playing their game.. while 50 and Rasheed spend more time running their mouthes and saying how great they are, and how badly they are going to beat their competition...But I would have to say though that Rasheed and the Pistons are doing a bit better job backing up their words more than 50 and G Unit.. I guess I would rather have Chauncey, Rip and Tayshaun anyday than Young Buck, Lloyd Banks, and Tony Yayo.. But just like how we havent heard anything from 50 and the crew since they lost that album war, dont expect to hear anything from the Pistons if they end up falling to the Sixers in this first round series.
Jason Kidd may have finally done something relevant in this series against the Hornets... He tried to take out Hornets shooting guard Jannero Pargo in Sunday's game.... nice job Jason, way to make yourself useful.. but if I were you I would have gone after CP3 or maybe Stojakovic.  Pargo's playing great but I tink they Hornets are still a better team than Dallas without Pargo.  I'm really feeling bad for the Mavs, they have not only lost this season but in the process dont have anything going for them for the next few seasons.. I"ll write my special blog abut teams going to Six Flags for the summer and I'll talk more about the Mavs once they are out of the playoffs...
Oh my Goodness!! I think Boris Diaw read my last blog about him and the Suns after they got their tails handed to them in game 3.  Boris blew my mind and I'm sure a few Spurs' fans' minds as well.  He did a great job, almost had a triple double, and shut down his fellow Frenchman Tony Parker for a good part of the game.  Even though Tony wont give Diaw any credit, Tony said afater the game, I had my shots I just couldnt make them.  This is a game the Suns obviously needed, but I'm not talking about staying alive in the series (not to say they can't come back because I honestly believe they can, remember the Red Sox and Yankees a few years ago? Boston came back from 3 -0 and beat the Yankees and went on to win the World Series.  Before you say um Chaitan that was in baseball and this is basketball.. let me tell that was the first time any team in baseball came back from 3 -0 also) back to my point, the reason that win was so important was because now the Suns will have some faith going into the off season and not feeling like they have to blow up their team.  The Suns did a great job this game but they will need a few more miracles to pull this series out, something like having Boris seduce Eva into wearing a Suns jersey for game 5.. I dont know, I'm desperate.. thanks to Phoenix there goes my NBA playoffs bracket..And Damn Shaq give up some of your 2 years $40 Million you still got on your contract which you use for Krispy kreme donuts and Icy Hott patches.. yes i'm  a little bitter....

Day 7

The Atlanta Hawks reminded me of caterpillers who jumped in their caccoons and Saturday they were butterflies who came out dunking and blocking shots..
Ok maybe that was a bit exaggerated but if you had seen Josh Smith, Al Horford and the rest of the Hawks, they would have you believing too. Before this series started Josh Smith told reports that the Hawks were going to shock the world... and well Saturday night they did.. they avoided getting swept by the Celtics.. That was a huge shock, and I seriously hope thats all he meant by that comment.
The Hawks though did have some great highlights during the game...My favorite would have to have been not Josh Smith sending shots into the crowd, but Al Horford running over to the crowd, getting the ball and cleaning it after Smith punished the ball.  Al Horford reminds me of wide receiver scoring a touchdown, and he wants to score that touchdown just so he could do that dance he practiced at home.  The only thing I probably wouldnt have done if I was Horford was taunt Paul Pierce at the end of the game.. I mean damn I loved watching him yell at Pierce while he was on the floor.... but yeah probably not the smartest thing to do... Im predicting 40 for Pierce in Game 4, and a Celtics win by 20.
Talking bout not a smart thing to do.. Whats wrong with the Raptors why do they keep trying to take it in on Dwight? This kid is killing them, he swats shots like there mosquitos at a family picnic in dead heat summer... He made the Raptors look pretty silly in game 4, Dwight's boxscore was ridiculous 19 points, 16 rebs, and 8 blocks.  What the Raptors must do to win this series is not concentrate on Dwight (because they aint stopping him), they need to focus on the Magic's outside shooters.  Hedo, and Lewis thrive when the focus if off of them, and anytime Howard is double or triple teamed they are able to get open and knock down shots.  The Raptors should just let Howard go crazy, and see how far he will take the Magic.... my prediction is not too far.. Note to Sam Mitchell (coach of the Raptors): Let me know when you decide to do what I just mentioned so I can pick Dwight for my Drive to the Finals, cuz he is going to get 40 points and 40 rebounds that game...but dont worry the Raptors will still win...
So how bout Melo's post game's interview?  He just flat out said his team, the Denver Nuggets gave up.  What was interesting was they asked him when did they give up, and he responded half way through the 3rd quarter.. But watching Melo's facial reactions while he was speaking he realized what he said was pretty stupid, because then quickly he tries to throw in that it wasnt just the team but he was also one that quit.  Now why in the world would you do that?? Why would you say that to the press?? Thats like throwing a pack of New York Strip steaks into a pack of wolves and expect them not tear it apart... Now I know we talk about the draft class of Lebron, Wade, and Melo being one of the greatest of all time.. but besides those Jordan commercials, what does Melo have going for him? Honestly I'm sure Jordan is kicking himself for picking up Melo for his brand instead of Wade... everyone knows Lebron wasnt going to sign with MJ... Melo doesnt really have anything to show for himself... and I honestly believe he doesnt belong in that class with Bron and Wade, forget all the accomplishments by these two guys, but just look at the way they handle themselves outside the court... You could never imagine hearing about Lebron or Wade getting caught for DUI and getting arrested, but somehow it didnt surprise any of us that much when we heard about Melo's incident... Someone said last summer that Melo was made for European style basketball.. well then maybe Melo you're on the wrong continent...
I believe Deron Williams is just about ready to show the rest of the world that he is ready to take over the reign as the best pg in the game. During game 4 Williams showed why he is a force to be reckoned with.  Boozer, Kirelenko and Okur all did an ok job on Saturday night (they all looked like role players) but Williams by himself proved he was too much for Tmac and the Rockets to handle.  This was a tightly contested game until towards the end of the 4th quarter when the Jazz extended the game out of reach.  I got to say though this Carl Landry kid is a hell of a pick up for years to come for the Rockets.. I know I can hear Rockets fans saying "We've been telling you that all year" ...but I ignored that along with them saying "Look at our 22 game winning streak, we are the best team in the NBA.. blah blah blah" Sorry Rockets fans I'm not hating but no matter how great team basketball you play, you guys STILL arent legit without the Big Chinese Man... But next year yes I will jump on your bandwagon and ride it all the way to the Western Conference Finals, and maybe even the Finals...but until then, TMAC call your travel agent again and tell her to go ahead and finalize those tickets to the Bahamas, like TNT's Inside the NBA's crew says "It's time to go fishing".

Day 6

I predict the next 23 year old self made millionaire is gonna be some drunk kid from Phili who dropped a couple of grand in Vegas on his team beating the Pistons...
I mean honestly who thought the Sixers would be able to overcome all these odds and not just make this a series, but legitimately have a chance to beat the Pistons in the first round.  The Sixers just seem to be the team that wants it more, and they have beat the Pistons at their own game.  Andre Miller has completely outplayed Mr Big Shot so far, and I dont know if Mr Big Shot is even going to have a chance to live up that name of his, simply because I dont know if any of the games are gonna be close enough for Chauncey to get a shot at hitting a game winner.  The Sixers hustle and play hard 48 mins and I dont think the Pistons have it in them to do that anymore.
But the Pistons have at least shown some fight, not like the Suns who just seem to fold every time they see Tony Parker dribble down court.. not only do they fold, but before Tony passes the half court line Amare already goes out of bounds to get ready to inbound the ball, and Raja Bell and Leondro Barbosa start running down to the other side of the court to set up their offense... Yes its gotten that pathetic... I dont know what Eva's doin but damn I guess she steps it up in the playoffs, hence so does Tony..
According to an NBA Insider there is more than just Eva's magic which is allowing the Spurs to take a commanding control of this series.   What the Spurs have been doing is not allowing the Suns to get comfortable in their offensive possessions.  The Suns apparently have 3 plays in their playbook.. Lets go through them quickly.. 1) Give it to Shaq and left him shoot a jump hook goin to his right.. cuz thats his patented move.. you can say this shot is unblockable, yea thats true but it is almost always unmakeable too.. (I feel like I should just throw in the word "misremembered" right now.. thanks Roger for letting us making up words as go along...) 2) Pick n Roll with Stoudamire and Nash and have Nash pass the ball to Amare and he will take off from where ever he is on the court because he believes he is participating in some sort of long jumping competition.  During Game 4 keep an eye on that, as soon as he gets the ball he takes off like he's got some rockets on his shoes.. then realizes when he's up in the air and is no where near the basket he will do his best impression of Dwight Howard during the Dunk Competition by chunking the ball at the basket.. 3) But all of that is ok because if that is not working they call out their favorite play... Everyone get out of the way and let Boris Diaw post up... AM I THE ONLY ONE BESIDES MY NBA INSIDER WHO AGREED WITH ME BORIS DIAW HAS NOOOO POST UP GAME?? Seriously I would think an offensive genius like Mike D'Antoine would realize Diaw aint got no postup game after about 10 missed layups... I know D'Antoine looks for mismatches but the only mismatch I see is Diaw and the the sport of basketball... Diaw kind of reminds me of Tim Thomas.. So much potential but thats about it...
Everytime a coach drafts a player like Diaw they envision a player like Nowtizki, someone who can go in and out, and be a superstar player.. Speaking of the Big German, he came up big yesterday when he needed too, and so did J Howard, who earlier in the day told ESPN that its ok if he smoke weed as long as its in the off season. What surprised me even more was that he said "everyone knows most basketball players smoke weed".  First I'm wondering if he was high when he was doing that interview.. oh wait he doesnt smoke during the season, but who knows after watching Chris Paul they must have been passing the dro in the Mavs locker room, but can you blame them honestly?? But I did figure out why they came out so strong against the Hornets in Game 3... Rumor has it that Mark Cuban said that if the Mavs lose this series, that next year they will all have their Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 removed from their lockers.. If you read Eric Dampiers lips when he pushed Chris Paul towards the end of game 3 you could see he said "I aint gonna lose my PS3 for your punk ass, its on CP!!"  This series just got so much more interesting!!

ROCKETS vs JAZZ game 3

Everyone Stop!!! We just had a TMAC sighting!!!

Tmac came up big in the 4th quarter for the Rockets, and couldnt have done it at a better time... This was by the far the best game on Thursday night.  In a matter of mins, Tracy hit free throws, made a couple of jumpshots, had a key block and got a couple of rebounds.  Great Job TMac!!
A lot of the credit for this game should also go to Carl Landry forward for the Rockets, at least for his effort and losing his tooth.  Carlos Boozer elbowed Landry when they were both hustling for a rebound and knocked out his front tooth.  But not to worry Landry did explain later that it was just a fake tooth, because Dikembe knocked out the real one earlier in the season.  I wonder if you get money from the toothfairy if your tooth is fake.. hm...
But i think the best player by far had to have been the great playground legend Skip to my Lou... I was so impressed watching this guy... He realy is the Rockets team leader.. He was able to get people where they wanted to be and got them the shots they wanted.  He did a great job of running their offense.. I would probably say if the Rockets had Rafer in games 1 and 2, they probaly would be up 2-1 in this series.. Listening to Rafer during his halftime and postgame interviews you could tell this cat is really grown up and isnt just about pleasing the crowd, he is here to win.. This series just got a whole lot more interesting.. i still got the Jazz winning in 6 but at least it'll be much more fun to watch!!

CAVS vs WIZARDS game 2

Wow.... I am speechless after watching that... not because the Wizards tore up the Cavs, but watching Deshawn Stevenson become "invisible" after each shot he made, and then do his lil dance all the way down the court after making that last 3....
We got to figure out a name for this dance... any suggestions guys?? I'm think the DeShake, thats all i got right now but lemme know...
The Wizards did play a great game and they deserve credit, their defense I think is really what did it for them.. Lebron did have 22 but it was a very quiet 22.. the cavs were really never in this contest...
The postgame show w Lebron was interesting... Stevenson bought Soulja Boy tix to the game and Soulja Boy was siting courtside.. So Lebron got a question about Soulja Boy, if he felt bad for what he said about him, or if he even liked Soulja Boy... Lebron responded with a couple of chuckles, like he couldnt believe they were still bringing this topic up.. but calmly answered that his son knows every soulja boy dance and song there is... putting a rest to the argument that Lebron doesnt like soulja boy and his music... Now maybe we can concentrate on the Series and Basketball... BTW Agent 0 bruised his knee but is believed to be day to day..

MAGIC vs RAPTORS game 3

After watching this game between the Raptors and the Magic,  I finally realized how many European players are in the NBA.... And they arent just there they are making such an impact...
Between Bargani, Calderon, Turkoglu, that was the story... Turkoglu led his team in scoring, Calderon was just 3 rebounds shy of a triple double, and Bargani made some big shots along with Delfino.
This game was never close.. just like I predicted this series is more than likely going to go the full length just simply because neither of these team will be able to win on the road.. not because they are such great home teams but just cuz they are really bad road teams..
I only watched that game hopin to experience history with Dwight maybe getting another 20 20 game, but unfortunatly that didnt happen...
I really want to write about this game but honestly there is nothing to write about, sorry raptor and magic fans, this is probably the most boring series in the playoffs this year..

NUGGETS vs LAKERS GAME 2

Kobe Kobe Kobe.. This guy never ceases to amaze me....I know you Kobe haters are wondering what to say now. Well let me tell you what NOT to say:  You can't say he doesnt do anything but score nor can you say he is a ball hog and takes a lot of bad shots... He had 10 assists and shot 18/27 from the field.  You cant say he just wants to put up stats and not worry about winning... He had 49 points last night and when Coach Jackson sat him down with 2 mins left, Kobe didnt say anything about not being able to get his 50.  That right here shows you the maturity of Kobe Bryant...
To put it into simple terms.. Kobe was unstoppable.. now we do know the Lakers were playing the Enver Nuggets.. (I left the D out on purpose cuz they dont believe in it).
Its crazy how you can have three outstanding defensive players on your team, AI, Camby, and KMart, and they are so bad when it comes to team defense.  George Karl just doesnt seem to comprehend the concept of Team Defense... Maybe thats why he is has never won anything in the playoffs..
I think the only way the Nuggets can win this series is if they tell Kobe that Nike needs to shoot that car commercial again, and they should put a ferrari engine in that porsche with JR Smith driving it and have kobe blind folded and have to jump over it back ward.. then maybe the Nuggets may have a chance.
